Sheryne found her passion for art here in Georgetown, where she grew up. She has been creative since a young age creating pieces for her Barbie in her basement. She started art lessons at Which Craft, now known as Kids Art Studio Experience (KASE). After high school she left the province to attend Nova Scotia College of Art and Design (NSCAD) where she majored in Interdisciplinary Fine Arts and minored in Illustration.
Sheryne enjoys exploring many mediums and styles of art allowing her to constantly enhance and expand her artistic abilities. Typically she uses three mediums; painting, drawing(traditional and digital), and wood burning.
Mental Health and well being is what Sheryne’s work revolves around. As someone who experiences anxiety and depression, she finds that art gives her an outlet to express herself, work through her thoughts and feeling, bringing meaning to the world.
Sheryne Tavender’s will be on display for the month of January. We hope you can make it in to see her beautiful pieces for sale.
